My experiments with my hair

Decided to style my hair with a side plait and the fringe. Big earrings, kohl lined eyes and my nerdy glasses complete the look.

New Wedges

Picked these up during a recent shopping trip. Can't stop wearing them everywhere I go. Other than the fact that they are pretty, they are also super comfortable.

Summer haircut

Recently got a haircut. Love it a lot! I have been wanting to experiment with my hair for a long time and summer gave me the perfect opportunity. Though a tad bit difficult to maintain., the fringe especially, I still adore it.

Gifts from New Zealand

As I mentioned in my previous post, I was visiting New Zealand and Australia. And with travel comes shopping.
So, I picked up these jade earrings and a black pearl pendant from New Zealand. The black pearl pendant is one of my favorites from all the shopping I did.
For all of those planning to visit New Zealand,  I would recommend picking up black pearl, jade, blue pearl and paua shell jewellery. They look amazing and you know you would be taking a bit of New Zealand back with you.

Comfy harem pants can look good too

So, I recently travelled to Australia and New Zealand.  Hence the lapse in posting. Anyway,  now that I am back, here is one of my travel wears. The blue embroidered harem pants combined with the grey top from Mango, the necklace from Accesorize, the red hat I picked up at Covent Garden in London and shoes I picked up at Sydney is perfect for visiting Bondi beach.
Fun, fashionable and comfortable.

Deepika Padukone- Filmfare Awards

Deepika Padukone looked amazing wearing a risque black Prabal Gurung Fall 2012 gown with Christian Louboutin heels . Her hair was perfect for the look and so was the orangeish-red lip color. The only thing missing was a nice clutch. Zoe Saldana wore the same look to CFDA fashion awards in 2012 (here)

Katrina Kaif in Naeem Khan- Colors Screen Awards

Naeem Khan is having a very good run on the Indian Red Carpet scene. Katrina Kaif wore a gorgeous sequined Naeem Khan Fall 2012 black gown to the Colors Screen Awards. I wish Katrina had worn some statement earrings and a bolder lip color with this gown. I prefer the runway styling to the of Katrina's in this case.

Zee Cine Awards- Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone looked amazing wearing a beautiful Naeem Khan Resort 2012 gown. The white and gold full sleeved gown is absolutely divine and her berry lips compliment the look perfectly. Deepika looks much better than the model in this look.

Gossip Girl Style: Jenny

After watching gossip Girl reruns during the holidays I realized that the outfits worn by Taylor Momsen also needed a separate post. I loved her style in the initial seasons, before she took the rock chic and raccoon eyes look too far. Here are a few of my favorite outfits on Jenny:

Season 1&2

Jenny is mostly in her Constance uniform or in the clothes "designed by her". The first one is her dress to the white party and the second is for the guerilla fashion show by her.

    

Season 3, Episode 9 ("They Shoot Humphreys, Don't They?")

Jenny looked lovely wearing her Blumarine Fall 2009 dress to the cotillion. Her blonde hair, red lips and black finger gloves make this look perfect and she looks even better than the runway model.

Episode 13 ("The Hurt Locket")

Taylor Momsen looked gorgeous in this episode in her black Andrew GN fall 2009 dress. The web detail on the yoke of the dress was pretty different and the stack of bangles added to it made the look perfect for the character of Jenny.

Season 3, Episode 20 ("It’s a Dad, Dad, Dad, Dad World")
Jenny wore a beautiful Marchesa S/S 2010 dress. I love the colour and that it is something we dont usually see her in. However, I wish her makeup was less dark and goth. A bright lip color would have livened up the look.

Nerdy is the new sexy

I got myself these nerdy glasses from Police. Quite nice right ?

My friend Supraja bought this really nice gold collar neckpiece from Lokhandwala and teamed it with her blue dress from Ginger. I think it looks brilliant! What about you?

Because sometimes you just have to wear a saree

The other day, my friend Supraja and I decided to go on a saree date. And it was loads of fun!
Don't you think the saree is one of the best looking piece of clothing ever made for a woman? I don't think anyone can look bad in a saree.

I wore a simple chiffon saree with crystals on it from Nalli with a men's watch from Titan which had a bit of a rusty look and simple turquoise earrings from Accessorize. Teamed it with nude heels and orange nail paint. Nude lipstick and kohl rimmed eyes completed my look.
My friend wore a simple but colorful and bright printed cotton silk saree in brown and green with pretty sea green earrings from Westside. She wore simple chappals and had kohl rimmed eyes.

Time to get the pallu.

Rock Chic

This Christmas I treated myself to a pair of Miss Sixty black leather ballerina flats with silver studs. I love that they add an edge to even a very simple outfit.

Gossip Girl: Memorable Outfits-Part 3

Season 5:

Episode 08 ("All the pretty sources")

Blake Lively wore a Mary Katrantzou dress spring 2011. I like that the look is edgier than what we usually see her in. Mary Katrantzou is known for her prints and it is not easy carrying them but Blake is totally rocking it. Her necklace is from Auden and rings are from Roberto Coin and Lulu Frost.

Episode 9 ("Rhodes to Perdition")

Blake Lively shimmered in a Diane Von Furstenberg gown with a gold statement necklace. Her hair is very different from what we usually see her in. I like the styling of Blake better than that of the model. I also liked the cream Boyod dress with gold peacock feathers worn by Kaylee DeFer.

Episode 11 ("The End of the Affair?")

Leighton Meester looked lovely in the white Vera Wang Spring 2011 Gisele dress. You can read the article behind the conceptualisation of this beautiful dress here.

Episode 13 ("G.G")

It was the episode with Blair and Louis wedding. Leighton looked gorgeous in her Vera Wang Fall 2010 Chantilly lace Esther gown but her hair looked a bit too casual for a bride. Blake Lively also looked gorgeous as the maid of honor in her nude Vera Wang Spring 2011 gown.

Episode 19 ("It Girl, Interrupted")

Leighton Meester wore this princess style Oscar de la Renta Resort 2012 gown. The scene on the museum steps with this gorgeous pink ruffeled gown was so romantic.

Episode 21 ("Despicable B")

Leighton Meester wore a gorgeous Elie Saab Fall 2011 black gown with a statement necklace and berry lips. I love the look from head to toe.

Season 6

Episode 5 ("Monsterous Ball")

Both Blake Lively and Leighton Meester looked great in this episode. Blake Lively wore a lovely black Monique Lhuillier Spring 2012 gown and carried a Roger Vivier clutch. I love the fishtail braid with the gown it gives that "Serena" touch to the whole look. Leighton wore a Reem Acra Fall 2011 gown. I love the sequins on the gown though I would have liked it better if she had worn just the earrings and no headband.

Episode 10 (""New York, I Love You XOXO"")

Now to the Gossip Girl finale. I am so glad the styling team of Gossip Girl went all out in this episode. Leighton Meester looked stunning in the Elie Saab Spring 2012 gown she wore for her wedding. I love the leafy jewelled head band. This is one of her best looks of the entire season. I also loved that it matched perfectly with Chuck, he wore a white suit with blue lapels and blue bow tie. And Serena also looked awesome "5 years later" in her Georges Chakra Spring 2011 gown. I am so glad the stylists din't opt for conventional wedding gowns for this episode.
