Collar neckpiece

My friend Supraja bought this really nice gold collar neckpiece from Lokhandwala and teamed it with her blue dress from Ginger. I think it looks brilliant! What about you?

Gossip Girl: Memorable Outfits-2

I am dedicating an entire post to Season 4 as I love the clothes in this season a lot. The Paris episodes are my all time favorite.

Here are my favorite episodes from Season 4:

Episode 1 ("Belles de Jour")
I loved each and every outfit in this episode. Fabulous fashion set in the City of Lights, what could be more beautiful than that?
The episode started with Blake Lively wearing a beautiful nude George Chakra spring 2010 cage dress with Beatrix Ong leather brogues and a Rag & Bone blazer. The unexpected combination of the feminine dress with the boyfriend blazer and brogues was genius.
Leighton Meester wore a Moschino spring 2010 bubble hem dress with a beret. I love the playful print and that the look is different from what we usually see Blair in.

Episode 2 ("Double Identity")

The scene between Chuck and Blair on the railway station has to the most romantic scene on Gossip Girl. What made the scene even better was Leighton Meester's romantic Oscar de la Renta Pre-fall 2010 red ruffled gown with the gorgeous Harry Winston necklace and Roger Vivier bag.
Blake Lively also looked great in her gold Emilio Pucci Spring 2010 jacket and the electric blue Tibi cropped pants with a Chanel bag. The hair style was a bit weird for my liking but she managed to pull it off.

Episode 3 ("The Undergraduates")
I loved looks worn by Blake Lively and Leighton Meester to FNO in this episode. The black and white printed Jenny Packham Fall 2010 dress with the blue crystal embellishments worn by Blake Lively is was sexy and dramatic. Leighton Meester also looked gorgeous wearing a Valentino Pre Fall 2010 dress with a Badgley Mischka necklace and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes. in both the cases I think the actresses look better than the models.

Episode 8 ("Juliet Doesn't Live Here Anymore")
Blake Lively wore a gorgeous grey Zuhair Murad Fall 2010 lace gown with a sheer skirt and a silk draped detail with a Halston clutch. There is just one word to describe this look: Stunning

Episode 15 ("It-Girl Happened One Night")
Leighton Meester stole the show in this episode in her ivory with silver floral details Marchesa gown with a cowl back. Blake Lively also looked great in her Ralph Lauren Black Antonia beaded dress.

Episode 21 ("Shattered Bass")
Leighton Meester looked great wearing a Alexis Mabille Fall 2010 couture gown with gold print and pink floral details. The styling was also perfect.

Gossip Girl: Memorable Outfits

Gossip Girl is coming to an end on 17th Dec and so I wanted to post about my favorite outfits from the past seasons. It was really difficult to choose as the fashion in every episode is out of the world!!

Here are my favorite outfits from the first 3 seasons:

Season 1:

Episode 04 (''Bad news Blair'')
Blair and Serena's photo shoot around Manhattan. I don't know the designer but I love this look and the episode. Looking at Serena and Blair go around Manhattan in matching backless dresses clicking pictures with the soundtrack "Beautiful Girls'' by Sean Kingston made me wanna grab my best friend and jet off to NYC.

Episode 18 ("Much 'I Do' About Nothing")

This is from the last episode in season 1 from Lily and Bart's wedding. I really liked Serena's Ralph Lauren Ruffled Fillipa dress. The gown is different from the ones we usually see on Serena and it went perfectly with the theme of the whole wedding, also the addition of the black lace gloves took the whole look to the next level.

Season 2:

Episode 01 ("Summer, Kind of Wonderful")
The first episode of the second season in the Hamptons. The White party surely made me wanna go to Hamptons for the summer. I loved the white Oscar De La Renta Spring 2008 white gown worn by Blake Lively, the hair and the accessories were divine and make the whole look.

Episode 24 ("Valley Girls")

I loved the Marchesa Spring 2008 dress worn by Leighton Meester in this episode for the prom. I also loved the story about how it matched the dress in Blair's scrap book and Chuck gets it for her from Paris. The tulle with the gorgeous embroidery and a jewelled headband made this a memorable outfit.

Season 3

Episode 13 ("The Hurt Locket")

Taylor Momsen looked gorgeous in this episode in her black Andrew GN fall 2009 dress. The web detail on the yoke of the dress was pretty different and the stack of bangles added to it made the look perfect for the character of Jenny.

Episode 15 ("The Sixteen Year Old Virgin")

Blake Lively wore a beautiful lace dress by Stella McCartney and totally rocked the look. The statement earrings by Simon Tu and the open hair made the look effortless.

Gossip Girl Fashion

Gossip girl has been one of the most fashionable shows on TV for the past 5 years. I watch the show only because every episode features fabulous pieces from all the big fashion houses. The Paris episode in the 3rd season was one of my all time favorites. I loved the gold Emilio Pucci blazer with the vibrant blue Tibi cropped pants worn by Blake Lively in that episode (you can see it in the video below)
Here is an interesting video of Eric Daman, the stylist for Gossip Girl, talking about the fashion in that episode. Enjoy!!!

Yellow Fever

I have had a sudden affliction of yellow fever. No, not the dangerous medical kind. I am talking about the fun fashionable kind. I have fallen completely in love with all shades of yellow. I really like having it on my clothes. The bright color can brighten up even the gloomiest of days. I made a recent purchase of mustard jeans as you can so clearly tell by the smug grin on my face.
I like pairing my mustard jeans with my electric blue sky high heels and an electric blue top. For accessories, I like something heavy in gold like the knotted neckpiece I am wearing, a simple black and gold chain purse and my favorite watch. I'm wearing my favorite coral color on my lips and my hair is left to be its usual wild curly self.

You know you want the fever.

Fashion Essentials: première partie

Everyone has fashion essentials. Everyone should have them. Be it your loose red shorts you spend your Sunday lounging in or be it those towering electric blue heels which give you shoe bites (what's a bit of pain when it comes to looking good!)
I think, fashion essentials vary depending on the place you live at. I mean, my black coat and leather boots would be my fashion cannot-do-withouts when I am in London. But, c'mon. I'd have to be a lunatic to wear a black coat and walk around in a place where winter never arrives.
So, here goes, my fashion essential list for Bombay to help me stay fabulous and chic:

1. My Black heels
Make that all the pair of black heels that I own. I have 4 pairs. Not too much right? Yeah, they are, when you end up having to pay extra baggage for extra pairs of shoes. I have formals, I have sky high, I have lace, I have peep-toe; sigh.
And trust me, the moment I see another black pair, I am going to have very little self restraint to keep me from picking them up.

2. The color red
Yeah, I have a major fetish for the color red. I love red shoes, red lipstick, red nailpaint, red dresses and of course, red does look very very good if taken further.
Can you imagine the world without the color red? You wear an absolutely drab dress in brown or some equally boring pastel shade and smear some red lipstick or paint your nails red and you'll still make heads turn. Oh, and don't even get me started on red heels.

3. Lace
I remember my friend telling me she would disown me if I went after any more lace. I have lace in every form of clothing you can think of. And since that wasn't enough, I went ahead and bought some shoes with lace too. Pretty much everyone has had enough of me and my lace. But I haven't been able to get rid of this addiction. Not that I am trying either.

4. Coral Lipstick
This is fairly new love of mine. But I think its going to stick with me for
sometime, like every little thing I usually pick up does.
I absolutely adore coral lips. And in the Bombay sun, it just seems to be such a perfect match.

5. LBD
Last but not the least, my little black dress. I mean, it has to be there on the list.
Immortalized by Audrey Hepburn, adored by millions, making women all over
the world feel beautiful is the little black dress.  I am not even going to say why
its on my list of fashion essentials.
I like pairing mine with pearls or a single stone pendant. And my black heels.
And a tweed jacket. Classy. Always!

Well, that's my five fashion essentials. For Bombay.
You know you want them.
